The Welding Technology Program is a ROP courses designed to produce qualified personnel for certified welding jobs. Program performance standards for certification will be in accordance to those established by the American Welding Society and/or American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Courses are held in a completely modern and well-equipped welding lab.
For certified welders, employment opportunities are virtually unlimited. High-paying jobs are open in both heavy and light industry throughout California as well as the nation and the world. As far as can be seen in the future, the job market for certified welders will continue to grow.
The curriculum includes the following major areas of instruction:
- Oxyacetylene Welding and Flame Cutting
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick)
- Symbol Reading, Blue Print Interpretation and Computations
- Flux Core Welding
- Heavy Plate Welding
- Pipe and Tube Welding
- Integrated Welding Applications
- Welding Equipment Maintenance and Service
- Welding Inspection
- Welder Qualification
- Mig /Tig Welding
- Pipe Fitting and Cutting
- Welding Industry Employment Preparation
Butte College Arc Exposure is going to be held January 23-24. Mr Gambril and I will be taking eight students who are interested in this exciting conference. Priority will be given to students who want to attend Butte College, students on welding cde team, and students on ag. mech. cde.
Students need to work on their portfolio that is due 11/30/20.
