Attention Athletes
If you plan to participate in athletics in college you MUST register with the NCAA Clearinghouse. This is a simple process that must be done online at www.eligibilitycenter.com Applying with the Clearinghouse should be done in the spring semester of your junior year. There is a fee for registration that must be paid by credit/debit card online. After you have entered your personal information, you will need to have your transcript sent. This can now be done electronically and this is the preferred way for having your transcript sent. If you choose to have the school mail a copy of your transcript you will be instructed to print a transcript request form. You should sign this and bring it to the Guidance Office. Transcripts will not be sent to the clearinghouse until the summer after junior year.
To be eligible as college freshmen, students MUST graduate from high school in 8 semesters. All core courses must be taken in 8 semesters. Students can no longer go to "prep schools" and take classes after the 8 semesters. Neither can they take a course in summer school AFTER the 8th semester and graduate in summer school. The main focus is graduating on time.
