Welcome to the Combined Science revision section of the Science department’s VLE. Here you will find a range of resources to help you extend your knowledge of what is studied in the classroom and prepare for your GCSE exams. These include:
• The tables below show you the link between the units examined e.g. B1 Cell Biology and the chapters in the revision guides that cover each unit.
• A summary of the required practicals and the units they were taught in.
• A list of the equations you will be given in the exam and asked to apply. No need to learn these ones!
• A list of the equations you need to learn and apply. Try to learn these if you can. Important: If you are sitting the Foundation papers for Combined Science you will only need to remember these equations if the question is a grade 5 question. If the question is graded at a 4 or below then you will be given the equation as part of the question in the exam paper. However, if you are sitting the Higher paper you will need to learn all of them.
• Lots of past papers, specimen papers and the relevant mark schemes. Work though these, mark them yourself and if there are any questions you still do not understand the answers to, then ask one of your teachers to explain it.
And finally, you will find additional resources on the following website. Please make sure that you follow the links to the AQA specification: https://www.revisely.co.uk/gcse/
