The Access PA Database in 1985. It was started to provide a union catalog that includes various types of libraries across the the state. It was the first, and remains the largest, statewide union catalog in North America, containing approximately 22.2 million titles, including books, eBooks, periodicals, DVDs, and more, with over 73.3 million holdings. All persons from Pennsylvania who hold a valid public library card may access this database and search for library holdings. The link is below for easier access. http://database.accesspa.org/ Your library card also provides you with access to a wide variety of Research Databases 24-hours a day from wherever you are, using a computer, iPod, phone, etc. The POWER library (Pennsylvania Online World of Electronic Resources) provides access to magazine & newspaper indexes, full-text encyclopedias & almanacs and an archive of 500,000 + photographs. From any computer with internet access please type www.powerlibrary.net and click on Find a Power Library. Click on the county your library is in. Find your library and click on it. Enter the barcode on the back of your public library card (should be 14 digits).
