Each student is required to have 3 pairs of shoes. Indoor black uniform shoes and P.E. shoes will stay at school every day. They will need a third pair of shoes for outside play. These can be running shoes or boots, depending on the weather.
GYM RUNNERS – stay at school for exclusive use in the gym.
BLACK SCHOOL SHOES – should not be worn for outside play time. Ideally students should leave them at school in the cubby.
BOOTS / OUTDOOR PLAY SHOES – should be worn to and from school and during Recess. (We don’t have room in our cubbies for boots, so on rainy or muddy days students will need to wear their boots to and from school.)
Students participate in P.E. class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that P.E. clothing is labeled. Students are asked to wear their gym strip to school on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Please remember to check your child's planner each evening. I rely on the planner to communicate with you and to send home important notices from the classroom and office. If you know ahead of time that your child is going to be absent, late, or leaving early, either jot a note in the planner or send me an email. One of your child's responsibilities is to check his/her planner each morning for notes or papers.
When it is your child’s birthday we will make it a special day for her/him in our classroom with some privileges (show and tell, choosing a special buddy to eat lunch with, birthday sticker and card, a gift from the birthday box, etc.).
Often parents want to send a special treat for the birthday boy or girl to share. Since a component of our curriculum focuses on healthy eating, I would ask that any treats sent be non-edible (pencils, erasers, stickers...). NO CUPCAKES, COOKIES, CAKE, CANDY - THANK YOU! We are encouraging students not to share any food, even healthy snacks, due to health and safety.
Weekly homework will be assigned on WEDNESDAYS and due back the following WEDNESDAY. This gives you and your child time to decide when they can get their work done. It should take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete, give or take, depending on each individual student.
You can find the weekly homework here.
