Listed below are some general rules and guidelines that students are expected to follow when using the library. These guidelines should be discussed with the students during the first few days of study hall.

Students are expected to go to the library with the purpose of doing work that involves the use of library assistance or resources. Some examples of these types of activities include: checking out books, reading magazines, school-related use of the computer, working on research papers, using library resource materials, etc.

Students are expected to be respectful and courteous of the rights of others when using the library. The library staff will attempt to maintain a learning atmosphere that is generally quiet and conducive to learning.

Students are not allowed to bring hats, coats, food, pop and cell phones into this area. Usage of Ipods and other MP3 devices will be left to the supervisor.

All students who choose to relocate from their study hall to the library are expected to obey the directives of the librarian. They are not allowed to leave this area without a pass from the librarian.

Discipline Procedures:

Any student who chooses to violate any of the above listed rules will be subject to the following disciplinary procedures:

Violation #1 – Loss of library privileges for a period of two weeks

Violation #2 – Loss of library privileges for a period of four weeks (*)

Violation #3 – Loss of library privileges for the remainder of the

semester (*)

(*) - A student will only be able to go to the library if she/he receives special permission from a classroom teacher or an administrator.
