Set Up Chrome:

Why sign-in to Chrome?

Signing in allows you to customize Chrome
Create multiple user profiles (really handy if you use more than one Google account!)
Synchronize your browser across multiple devices
Browser history cmd-Y/ctrl-Y (not to be confused with your search history)

Tab Management

Screen modes

Run in full screen mode and make the browser disappear
Two fullscreen modes
- Full screen
- Presentation mode
Incognito mode, for anonymous browsing
- Useful if someone needs to use your computer
- Useful if you want to view a site as a "non logged in user"
- Useful if you want to leave no trace of your browsing (eg at a public computer)
Zoom in/out, great for when you're projecting your screen.

Working with Pages

The Omnibar, search and address together in one.
cmd-D/ctrl-D to make a bookmark
You can choose to show or hide the bookmarks bar on the page.
If you hide it, it still shows when you open a new tab (which is when you really need it, right?)
cmd-F/ctrl-F to find words on the current page
Email the current page URL (Mac only?) File > Email Page Location or shift-cmd-I
On Windows and Chromebooks, use the Send using Gmail extension
Insert special characters, opt-cmd-T/alt-ctrl-T (?)
Autofill for web forms (needs to be enabled)

Custom searches
- Set up custom searches to find information on a site directly from the Omnibar.
- Type the custom shortcut, followed by a space
- Define the custom searches on the Chrome settings page
