The Glass Group

Welcome to the Glass Group! We are a part of the Systems Pathobiology unit in the Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Our research focuses on integrating multiple sources of ‘omics data and on understanding how biological mechanisms and contexts affect structure of gene regulatory networks. Our primary interests are in developing methods and building computational tools that merge an appreciation of network analysis, biological function and translational impact. We collaborate closely with both medical doctors and bench biologists to guide our methodological development and to help interpret our network discoveries. We have applied our methods to gain mechanistic insights into tissue-specific and sex-specific gene regulation, as well as many human diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, ovarian cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. Ongoing projects focus on interpreting diverse and heterogenous biological data in the regulatory network context and exploring how network structures can be used to gain insights into regulatory mechanisms with an eye toward hypothesizing therapies for disease.
