On February 25th, all 5th graders participated in a grade level discussion regarding transitioning to the middle school they are zoned to. Below is a copy of the presentation of the information discussed. Each student was then given a copy of the registration sheet for their zoned middle school. All forms were due March 3rd. All electives have been entered and middle schools will be making contact regarding band and orchestra instrument selections.
To qualify a student must have an 85 + average in each subject area. For K Level in Reading and Language Arts, a student must have a combined average 85 + in order to qualify for K Level course.
Your student's course list has been updated and now available on the home access center. It is essential that you thoroughly read the attached document as it pertains to your child's transition from 5th to 6th grade.

Spanish - 5th to 6th Spanish 2020-21 Course Verification Instructions.pdf
You will have access to your child's 6th grade course list via the Home Access Center. You have from Monday 5/4/20-Monday 5/28/20 to review their course list. Attached you will find a course verification letter that provides you with information on:
1. How to review your child's course request
2. How to request a change
3. Provides a copy of the 2020-2021 course catalog
4. Provides a link to request a change to your child's elective
You will be prompted to complete ALL of the questions in the link. Once you have completed the form, hit the submit button.
If your child wishes to be added to the "wait list" for full year ART or THEATER ART, you can add that information in the comments section. A "wait list" is not a guarantee that your child will be added to that elective.
Please note that middle school band directors will provide information regarding instrument selection.
Be on the lookout for information re: school supplies and 6th grade orientation dates. Check the appropriate middle school websites in late July/August for that information.
The window to request changes to the course list closes Thursday, 5/28/20.
