Mrs. Larson's Class
About Mrs. Larson
Welcome to my website! I'm so excited for the new school year! Parents, I can't wait to partner with you in your child's learning. My hope and dream are that your child will enjoy coming to school, be excited to learn, and feel safe in our classroom.
My name is Ariana Larson. This year will be my 11th year teaching but my 14th year in education. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I’ve also taught as a Target Services Teacher for several after-school programs. In addition, I’ve taught as a school-age care teacher for k-5 students. I’ve loved each part of my journey, and I am excited to begin my 10th year at Cannon Falls Elementary.
I got married on September 2nd, 2017, to my husband Jordan Larson. We live in Elko New Market with our two children and cat, Ollie. Ollie is quite the troublemaker. A true "Garfield." We had another cat, named Survivor, but she recently passed away.
We have 2 children, Andrew & Luke. Andrew will turn 4 on September 15th. Luke is 2 years old. We had a very rocky road with Luke when he joined our family. Luke was taken on a chopper to Children's in Mpls, where he spent 19 days in the NICU and was diagnosed with HIE. When he was 6 months old, he battled infantile spasms and overcame them. He was also diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. We have a team of nurses who work with him during the week. He is a warrior! We take each day one day at a time and celebrate each victory.
This summer, I have spent a lot of time bringing Luke to his therapy sessions, 4x a week. We also did a 3-week OT/PT intestine that was 5x a week for 3 weeks. Luke is a happy kid! He loves it when you sing to him. This summer, Andrew has spent time going on adventures with the WRAP program in New Prague. We have spent a lot of time going to parks together. We were able to get away and spend some much-needed time at our neighbor's cabin as well.
I graduated from Bemidji State University in 2009 with a degree in education. In 2020, I graduated with a Master's in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University. The best thing about teaching is that I get to put a smile on students’ faces and make a difference in their daily lives.
I spend my spare time with my family, spending time outside, traveling and exploring new places, and cooking. I love creating new dishes. I've been told many times that I've missed my calling but that's ok because the kids are worth it! :) If I’m not creating new dishes at home, I love to try new restaurants. My favorite cuisine is Thai.
