Grading Scale

Cumberland County Schools use standards-based grading practices for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. The scale below explains what each score means. Report cards are sent home each 9 weeks and will include scores for each standard covered during that time.

1- Working under grade level

"I am starting to get it, but I am still confused."

2- Working at grade level

"I can do this with help or an example."

3- Mastery

"I can do this on my own and can show I understand."

4- Exceeding expectations

"I am very confident with this and can teach someone how to do this."
