About the Teacher

A Little About Me:

Hello there! My name is Jessica Rollins and this is my sixteenth year as an educator, my fourteenth year teaching here at Homestead Elementary. One of my greatest joys is teaching, and I love Kindergarten! I graduated from Cherokee High School in Rogersville, Tennessee, in 2003. I then attained my bachelor's degree from Carson-Newman University in Liberal Arts with Elementary Education in 2007. Since then, I have completed several hours of graduate-level coursework in Educational Leadership and have had the privilege of participating in some unique professional development opportunities.

As for my personal life, I grew up in Rogersville, Tennessee, with wonderful and supportive parents, a brother, and a sister. I am the oldest of my siblings, and I was raised in a close-knit family. While in Rogersville, I taught two years of 6th grade math at Rogersville City School. After marrying my husband, Michael Rollins, the Youth & Associate Minister at Cumberland Homesteads Baptist Church, in 2009, I moved to Crossville. We have three precious children, ages 10, 7, and 2. They keep us on our toes, and we absolutely adore them! In my spare time, I enjoy camping, spending time with family and friends, movie & dinner dates with my husband, going on adventures, and traveling to new places.

As a parent and a teacher, I understand that this year continues to bring lots of uncertainties, just as the previous few years have. Please rest assured that keeping my students safe and being sure they know they are loved are my top priorities. Whatever this year may hold, I will do my best to make it as meaningful as possible for you and your child. I feel privileged to be a part of the "Homestead family" and am looking forward to all this year has to bring!
