Families,
I believe parent-teacher communication is vital to a healthy classroom culture. There are 3 primary ways we will communicate regularly during the school year: Class Dojo, Student Binders, Weekly Newsletters
Class Dojo is an excellent tool that can be extremely successful at keeping you informed and up to date on our class and school happenings. This app is intended to be a simple, positive method of communication, and it's free! I want to share wonderful things that are going on in our classroom, so please be sure to sign up using the code given to you that will link you to your child and to our homeroom.
Student binders will be sent home daily. Please initial the planner each night and write any question, note, or change of transportation in the area provided. This is the space I will communicate with you as well (daily behavior, individual reminders, etc.). Please also check for papers that need to be signed/returned and those that can be kept at home. Keeping our binders organized will help us feel more prepared each day and set us up for successful habits.
Weekly newsletters will be sent home the first school day each week in student binders. This will give you a preview of the focus of our learning for the week and a list of upcoming events.
Other methods of communication: email, phone calls, & conferences. These methods will be used as needed.
Additionally, we may be utilizing a Google Classroom. If so, your child will be given a unique username and password that he/she will use to log in and view/complete assignments. I will be demonstrating the basics of the program with students so they can be a little more comfortable with the format, should they need to use it independently. More info will come about this, in the event we decide to utilize it.
I appreciate your partnership in ensuring the success of your child!
