Winter Awards 2019-2020
Due to the current pandemic and schools closing, we were unable to honor our winter athletes. We have attempted to recreate our Awards Program here. We tried to include every athlete for whom we had pictures, but we are sure we missed some and apologize for that omission.
Please be prepared to pause the video to help read the comments from the coaches.
Fall Awards 2019-2020
Minimum requirements to earn an Athletic Letter at Bohemia Manor HS:
Be a member in good standing on a Varsity team for the duration of the season.
Must be academically eligible for the last game/event the team/athlete participates in.
Athletes “called up” from a Junior Varsity team for playoffs should receive a Varsity Certificate only and NOT a Varsity Letter.
The Varsity Certificate indicates an athlete was a member of a varsity team but did not participate at that level long enough to earn a letter.
Must attend or participate in 80% of all regularly scheduled games.
Exceptions to this rule are:
Injury/illness to the athlete sustained while playing and/or practicing the sport the letter is for during that sport’s season. If an athlete is injured in this manner, they may, if deemed appropriate by the coaching staff, receive a letter.
Injury/illness to the athlete sustained during the season that was not directly related to their participation in that sport that keeps the athlete from finishing the season. At the discretion of the coaching staff and if the athlete has met the other requirements, a letter or a Varsity Certificate may be awarded.
Athletic programs/Coaches can chose additional criteria for members of their team to earn a letter.
Examples include but are not limited to:
Periods, Quarters, Matches, or Innings participated in.
Team Points earned by the athlete in a game, match or meet.
Contributions made to enhance the team’s success.
