Maglev Cars

• • The student will take notes on words related to Maglev Cars.

  • The student will be able to design a Maglev Car.

  • The student will make a Maglev Car out a balsa wood.

  • The student will paint the Maglev Car.

  • The student will be able to test their Maglev Car on a track.

  • The student will be able to find the speed of their Maglev Car using  mathematical equations.

  • The student will create a four minute PowerPoint presentation about their Maglev Car.

  • The student will present their PowerPoint presentation to the class.

 
Build a Maglev vehicle that will travel the length of the track as fast as possible using the following specifications and materials:
 

• • Magnets:             4

  • Motors:                1

  • Wood:                 As needed

  • Switches:            1

  • Wire:                   As needed

  • Propeller:           1

 

Specifications:
 

• • Length of car:     No more than 7 inches

  • Width of car:      Exactly 2-1/2 inches
