When you have nothing to do, or have come to class without your images this is the place to be. You need to HAND write a four paragraph paper 5-8 good sentences/paragraph discussing the work you've observed. Please don't fill your paper with short choppy sentences that aren't providing insight about what you're observing. I will not accept these as part of your paragraph. THIS IS NOT TO BE TYPED, you must HAND WRITE YOUR WORK - IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF TYPED.

 If you come prepared with your work, you are not required to complete this assignment.

Here are some topics that can be discussed in your paragraphs:

DESCRIBE IT:

What is the subject or theme of the image?

What kind of things do you see in this image? Why are these things important?

What word(s) would you use to describe this image? Why?

Look at the image for a moment. What immediate observations can you make?

What can you tell me about the person/people in the image? What can you tell me about how this person lives? How did you arrive at that idea?

How would you describe the place depicted in this image?

RELATE IT:

What does this image remind you of?

What things do you recognize in this image? What things seem new to you?

What interests you most about this image? Why?

EVALUATE IT:

How can you determine the photographers motivation to capture this image?

Do you believe this image was successfully taken? Why?

Do you think the way this image was captured was a good or bad thing? Why?

Judge the value of this work. Explain in detail why you feel the way you do.

ANALYZE IT:

What can you tell me about what's happening in the image?

In what ways does the image illustrate the various Elements & Principles of art? How about Photographic Compositional skills?

What was the artists main message about the work?

What do you think is the most important part of the image? How do you think the artist made that happen?
