My name is Sarah Bennett and I love being a part of the Douglass Second Grade team! It is going to be a year full of learning and new adventures and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with your child.
I have dedicated a significant part of my life to teaching at the elementary level. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and I completed my postgraduate studies at Columbia University. I have also served as a teacher in the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan and as an AmeriCorps volunteer in New York City. I am currently licensed in both Elementary Education (K-6) and Linguistically Diverse Education (K-12).
My husband Matt and I live in Golden with our goofy pup, Summit. We spend most of our free time up in Keystone enjoying the outdoors.
My Favorite Things…
Hiking
Yoga
Snowboarding
Gold Panning
Camping
Mountain Biking
SUP
I love organizing- I find it SO gratifying!
New outdoor adventures! Riding in a hot air balloon and paragliding are on my bucket list.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child this year!
From time to time our classroom uses extra supplies to make our lessons and day-to-day activities extra special. If you are ever interested in contributing, I have put together an optional Amazon Classroom Wishlist which you can view here.
You will receive an email invitation from me to join a mobile app my class will use this year called HOMEROOM. It is a super easy protected photo sharing app designed specifically for teachers and parents. You can view all of your child's memorable learning here as well as print photos you want to keep. Please be on the lookout for this email!
