I am so delighted to be your child’s teacher this year and I am committed to making sure that your child’s second grade year is full of rich learning experiences. In my classroom, I focus on building a strong sense of community by providing a safe, hands-on learning environment that motivates children to build confidence in themselves while showing their best work. We emphasize respect, cooperation, and teamwork and I help my students work to their fullest potential by building a love for learning.
I have been teaching 24 years here at Douglass. I received my Master's in Creative Arts in Education from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. My passion is Literacy and I use an Orton-Gillingham approach which combine multi-sensory teaching strategies paired with systematic, sequential lessons focused on phonics.
Outside of school I spend most of my time with my husband Marcus, 16 year old daughter Malia, 12 year old son Miles, and crazy Jack Russell Terrier Roxy. We spend our days at the pool, hitting some of our favorite trails, biking, boating, and fly-fishing in Summit County.

It is a super easy protected photo sharing app designed specifically for teachers and parents. You can view all of your child's memorable learning here as well as print photos you want to keep. Please be on the lookout for this email!
