Ellie Goldberg, K teacher
I could not be more excited to join the incredible community of educators and families at Creekside this fall! I came to Boulder from St. Louis for college in 1997. I met my husband Ben in 2001 and we spent many years leading wilderness trips. After teaching preschool for a year in St. Louis, I returned to Boulder, where I got my teaching license at CU and Ben and I had our two amazing girls: Sylvie (9th) and Nina (7th). I taught 5th grade in BVSD for a few years before becoming a literacy interventionist. I have my M.Ed. in Reading from Regis and I am a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP).
I spent many wonderful years as a learning specialist teaching literacy and math to 1st graders at Hillside School and as a K-5th literacy interventionist in St. Vrain Valley School District. Being with kindergarteners brings me tremendous joy: I love getting to know each one and am inspired by their curiosity and enthusiasm. In addition to teaching, I love to be with my family, swim, run the south Boulder trails, and read.
Michele Kelly, remarkable paraeducator
At Creekside, our sons thrived in a community that values education, diversity, and inclusion. Over a decade later, two are in college and the baby will be a junior at Fairview High School. I believe the Creekside LEAP values are still at the core of my curious learners. Supporting the Cougars in classrooms and small groups since 2020 has felt like coming home. In addition to my volunteer background and life as a South Boulder mom, my roots connect back to my parents, who are retired New York teachers. When I'm not working remotely as a recruiter, I love reading, yoga, the Shanahan Ridge trails, and walking our dog, Nellie. I look forward to nurturing your kindergarteners and joining this terrific teaching team!
