Donna Young, K teacher (and web designer)
I am a Colorado native, having grown up in Louisville. I have been teaching at Creekside since 2005 - two years as a literacy tutor/teacher and kindergarten since 2007. Both of my extraordinary children attended Creekside K-5th and graduated from Fairview! My daughter, Alex, is a play therapist who loves combining her creativity and compassion to support neurodiverse and twice exceptional children and their families. My son, Noah, is a spectacular musician, cantorial soloist, and a behavioral health technician. My wonderful husband, David, runs his own IT business, Free Range Geeks, here in Boulder. My favorite things about Creekside are the diversity of our students and families, the family-feel of the school, and my wonderful colleagues. I have a BA in psychology, an elementary K-6 teaching license, a Master's in Literacy and Curriculum Development K-12, and a Master's in Multicultural Education K-12 - all from CU Boulder. I am honored to teach kindergarten because I get to explore, learn, and laugh every day with my class family. For fun, I read historical and fantasy fiction, hike and explore in the mountains, travel, play board games, create projects with all kinds of art materials, and spend time with my family while I drink tea and eat potato chips!
Jeri Dowe, paraeducator extraordinaire
Jeri is a Colorado native and has two amazing children who attended Creekside K-5th, James and John, and graduated from Boulder and Fairview high schools. Both have grown up to be ingenious IT professionals. Jeri even attended Creekside for kindergarten and first grade when it was Martin Park Elementary! For fun, Jeri likes to drink coffee, read books, hike, be in the mountains, and play games with her two sisters and mother. The whole family cherishes their time together, especially when relaxing at their cabin in Nederland. Jeri's expertise and patience fosters a loving and safe learning environment for all!
