Info from August 4th Info Night

Make sure you have viewed the email from Mrs. Hinkle about Welcome Days so you know which day your child is starting, either Wednesday, August 12 OR Thursday, August 13. All children come to school on Friday, August 14. Class lists will be sent out August 14th by 4pm.

• What to bring to school starting August 12, 13, and 14:

  • backpack large enough for 3 snacks, large folders, lunch from home (optional) - LABEL with your child's first and last name

  • water bottle that has a top with a straw or sippy spout so there are less spills - LABEL with your child's first and last name

  • 3 snacks - two for the morning, one for the afternoon - LABEL which snack it is and with your child's first name

  • a change of clothes (underwear, socks, pants/shorts/dress/skirt, shirt) to keep at school so clean and dry clothes are available if needed

• Breakfast, lunch options and snacks

  • breakfast and lunch are free to all students

  • students can come in for breakfast at school starting at 7:40am

  • COLD LUNCH is a lunch from home - we do not have refrigerators or microwaves to keep lunches cold or heat up lunches - LABEL with your child's first and last name

  • HOT LUNCH is a lunch from the cafe

  • pack cold lunch from home and snacks in separate containers

  • LABEL all containers (no glass, please) with your child's first and last name

  • we will have 2 snacks in the morning and 1 snack in the afternoon - please keep cookies, cakes, and other sweets at home and send snacks that will give growing bodies and minds lots of good energy

• After school plans and food allergies/needs

  • please respond to the email sent out by the K teachers letting us know how your child is going home after school - Bus? SAC? Picked up by a trusted adult?

  • let us know if your child has any food allergies or other dietary needs

• Drop off and pick up

  • • drop off your child in the morning at the K/1 side door by the preschool fence

    • we kindly ask families to wait at the fence along the big field to give all K/1 students space to line up with friends

    • pick up your child at the same door, waiting at the fence - your child will give a teacher a high five, fist bump, hug, etc making sure that we see you and you see a teacher and your child for a safe exchange

    • drop off starts at 7:45am, school starts at 7:50am and pick up is 2:40pm - 1st-5th dismiss at 2:50

    • we dismiss 10 minutes before the rest of the school gets out to ensure a safer dismissal for all
