PE 206 : Casting & Joining Processes

Course Objective: 

To familiarize with fundamentals of Metal casting principles and Metal joining processes 

At the end of this course students will be able to … 

1. Demonstrate the ability to think in core concept of Casting and Metal Joining processes with applications.

2. Work out different processes and its process parameters to obtain qualitative solutions.

3. Design and develop gating system for sound casting and weld procedure schedule for welding.

4. Ability to select and apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to broadly-defined engineering technology activities.

5. Ability to measure casting and welding process variables in an organization and make technical inference about the process.

Details of Assessment Instruments under CE Practical Component:

Evaluation is divided into weekly practical work, attendance and participation in individual and group assignments, mini project, term work quiz, and open ended problems. 

Delivery Methods:

Lectures, presentation slides, discussions, Industrial visits, Individual and Group Assignments, Mini Project, exposure to different tools in laboratories, trainings, etc...
