Course Objective of Lean Manufacturing:
To understand lean manufacturing principles, tools and understanding of factors that contribute to organizational wastes, examining ways to eliminate wastes, & developing & implementing an improved organizational processes
Course Learning Outcomes (COs): Lean Manufacturing
At the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Identify types of waste in manufacturing system and systematic eliminate it.
2. Study value stream mapping for products.
3. Able to implement primary and secondary lean tools in manufacturing system.
4. Analyze and implement objectives and drivers of lean production system to achieve cost reduction and efficient service of customer demands.
5. Apply TQM, TPM, Six sigma and Quality Circle knowledge in industry.
Details of Assessment Instruments under CE Practical Component:
Evaluation is divided into weekly practical work, attendance and participation in individual and group assignments, mini project, term work quiz, and open ended problems.
Delivery Methods:
Lectures, presentation slides, discussions, Industrial visits, Individual and Group Assignments, Mini Project, exposure to different tools in laboratories, trainings, etc...
