Course Objective: Machining Processes
1. To develop competency in understanding of machine tools and its working principles.
2. To make the student conversant with basics of metal machining and mechanics of metal machining.
3 To learn introductory concepts of various advanced machining processes
Course Learning Outcomes (COs): Machining Processes
At the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Analyze the structure, basic elements and working of general purpose machine tools.
3. Comprehend basic mechanisms such as drive, speed, feed, indexing mechanisms and process principle and machining science for general purpose machine tools.
4. Calculate the cutting parameters like cutting speed, feed, and depth of cut, machining time and other with material removal rate for conventional and unconventional machining processes.
5. Identify conventional and unconventional machining processes in context to its applications.
6. Inspect the alignment of machine tools.
