Welcome!
I am Colleen Fee, the school counselor for the Class of 2031. I will be the counselor for the members of the Class of 2031 throughout the three years they are with us at Burlington Township Middle School. I work hard to know each student and their family -- if we haven't met, please feel free to write, call or visit me!
As school counselor, my role is to support students' academic and social success, and to introduce them to college and career opportunities. The pages on this site provide more detail about each of these topics.
Students who want to meet with me can do so in the following ways:
ask a teacher to call my office to find out if I am available
send me an email at cfee@burltwpsch.org to let me know that they want to see me
fill out an appointment request form
I generally see students in one of three ways: an individual meeting/counseling session, small group counseling, or classroom lessons. When I meet with students individually I try as hard as I can to limit our meetings to their related arts classes, but sometimes I have to borrow them from a core academic class. Group counseling always takes place during related arts classes, and only occurs with written permission from parents.
In addition, I also collaborate with teachers, administrators, and Child Study Team members through the Intervention and Referral Services Committee (for students whose academic, social, or emotional challenges are having significant impact at school); the 504 plan process (for students with medical conditions that impact their learning) and individual education plans (for students who may have learning disabilities).
Because school counselors aren’t qualified to offer therapy, I also make referrals to services outside of school when a students’ needs call for it. A list of mental health resources can be found on the district's website here.
The Burlington Township School District is committed to making our website accessible for students, staff, and the community. You may request information in an alternate format. Please contact the community relations office to make requests.
