January exams

So.. I have 2 exams coming up soon (22nd,24th Jan) the first one being clinical and social topics, the second being development and learning topics, and we have been told that each paper will consist of 40 multiple choice questions (20 for each of the 2 topics in the paper) , then there will also be 2 essay questions, one for each of the 2 topics (to write 2-3 pages each one).

Each exam is 2 hours, and i'm just looking for some advice regarding how long to spend on the multiple choice questions and how long to spend on the 2 essay questions. The essay questions make up 40% of the grade, so 60% is the multiple choice. I think when i get in the exam, i will go straight to the essay questions to make sure I get them done and have enough time for them and then do the multiple choice questions. But i just need to make sure i don't spend too long on the 2 essay questions and then have to rush through the multiple choice.

Any help would be appreciated!
