Lakeland College has a successful Interior Design program that has seen its students win many national and international college student competitions.
Our high school CTS offering of this course delivers elements of the college program and is led by the same Lakeland instructors. It will take place in Vermilion at the college campus (see map below).
Interior Design is only offered once a year and has a maximum of 15 students.
Here is a brief overview of what we look at during CTS Interior Design:
Principles and Elements of Design
Interview a potential client
Space planning basics
Design your own dream apartment
Furniture and Material boards
Simple sketching techniques
Introduction to Sketchup – 3D modeling software
There are also a number of smaller activities and assignments related to the items listed above.

Complete and sign the Registration Paper - Form
Return completed form to the school principal for approval
The school will submit student information to through on-line registration form (button below)
(access is ONLY for school administrators, submissions by anyone other than a school administrator will not be authorized)
The school will be notified by Central Services as quickly as possible about registration status.

Students are required to bring some of their own supplies to this course. This includes:
Scissors
Ruler
Pencils, pens (1 each of blue, black, and red), white eraser
Geometry set
Glue stick
White glue
Note: Level 1 (DES10120) is a pre-requisite for Level 2.

Class Times:
The classrooms at Lakeland open at 8:30 and classes begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Class runs until 12:00 (noon), and students are given a half hour break for lunch with class resuming at 12:30 and ending at 3:30 p.m.

Material Fees: $75
Course Fees: Collection of fees is a site-based decision. Schools will be charged full course fees for students failing to withdraw two weeks prior to course.
