Be aware that other students are working in the library on assignments and that they deserve the opportunity to be successful without the added distraction caused by others' behaviors.
Behavior Expectations When Visiting the Library
You must have a pass from your classroom teacher to visit the library.
Sign in using the QR code as you enter the library.
Keep one ear open to hear safety instructions if wearing earphones.
Do not talk on your cell phone. Ask to use a quiet area if any phone calls are necessary.
You must get a written note from one of the administrators for permission to be in the library if you do not have a scheduled class.
Book bags and backpacks are not allowed in the book stacks.
Ask for assistance from the library service technicians or librarian to locate what you need.
Student Responsibilities
Share resources by returning borrowed books and other materials from the library within the Date Due borrowing period
Maintain the existing condition of borrowed books and advise library service staff of any book damage
Library Borrowing Policy
Book loan period or check out is for 15 school-calendar days – 3 weeks.
Fines are 10 cents a day per book. When books are checked out to you others cannot use them.
You may view your library account by signing in. Overdue notices are provided as a courtesy to you. You are responsible for returning school property on time and paying any overdue fees.
Damaged or lost book fees may be the replacement cost of the book.
All fines owed need to be paid – owing fees will not keep you from checking out a book.
Fees are posted in Power School and you pay the school bookkeeper.
You may renew a book title three times if others are not requesting the book title - you may do this online by signing into your library account.
You may check out two books at one time.
You may place a hold on book titles.
You may request book titles to be purchased.
Renewing your book(s):
You may renew your books by logging into the Catalog/Destiny link from the library web page (Google Bloomfield High School Library). Once you have logged in successfully (your name will be in the upper right corner then go to Catalog. Choose Destiny Quest then My Info. You will see the book(s) you have checked out with a renew button. Click the renew button and your new renewal date will show. You may also email the librarian and request a renewal @bsin.k12.nm.us.
The following reasons are not regarded as valid for canceling or reducing library charges:
Remember, you have 15 school-calendar days for book loan period
Being out of town
Disagreement with the library fine or fee structure
Forgetting the due date
Inability to pay fines or fees
Item lost, stolen, or damaged while in your possession
Lack of knowledge of library policy
Material loaned to a third party; example: "I checked it out for may friend and. . ."
My dog chewed on the book
Non-receipt or late receipt of the library overdue notice
School breaks, illness, leaves, vacations, exams, car problems, etc.
