2021 - 46th REUNION (April 30th - May 2nd)

“A Shot for a Shot: Cocktails and Conversation”

The Class of 1975 is celebrating our 46th reunion this year by gathering with our classmates via a Zoom cocktail party on Friday, April 30th, 7:00 – 9:00 PM EST.  Reminisce with fellow ’75 classmates over cocktails and conversation while discussing old times and current times, remembering classmates who are no longer with us, and starting to plan for our in-person 50th Reunion in 2025.  We will be taking a figurative shot (drink) for every COVID shot received to celebrate all the good things ahead as life reveals our new “normal.”  Cohosts for our Class cocktail party are four of the Class of 1975 officers, Chuck Connell, Gail McCann, Denise Bledsoe Slaughter, and Bill Taylor—so we will have a fun time!

Virtual “Class Lounges” will be open Friday, April 30th (7 – 10 PM) and Saturday, May 1st (4 – 11 PM). We will be sharing a lounge with the Class of 1976 so you will have the opportunity to catch up with people beyond our class.  Feel free to pop in and out throughout the weekend!

Since the original plan to bring 2020 reunion classes back to Brown this spring was not possible, our class is invited to participate in University events on 2021 Commencement Weekend (April 30th-May 2nd). You can find the full schedule at https://commencement.brown.edu/schedule

NOTE: All class and university events are free, but you must register in advance! Check out the schedule and register at https://alumni-friends.brown.edu/events/reunions

Once you have registered, you will receive a reminder and an access link 2 hours prior to each event.

Connecting with our classmates, sharing  memories from our days on College Hill, catching up and sometimes even connecting with NEW friends make our class events and reunions worth celebrating! Whether you are meeting up with a classmate for coffee, attending a local Brown Club event with a small group or just running into each other on the street, please take a picture and send it to our Communications Chair Rhonda Port Walker at rpwalkerbhnj@verizon.net!

AND If you are interested in planning an event in your area for fellow classmates - either for the Class of '75 or for a larger group, contact Rhonda Port Walker at rpwalkerbhnj@verizon.net

45th reunion In 2020

In May, 2020 we virtually celebrated our 45th Brown Reunion with the Party Like It’s 1975! Classmates had an opportunity to see and Zoom chat with old friends (and maybe even a couple of people that we never met) and listen to some carefully curated tunes. Some class lounges were also available for some socially distanced conversations.

Many of us listened in to the Class of 1970 forum “OK, Boomer!” Did Our Generation Fail?, a multigenerational discussion asking the question “Did the Baby Boomer generation achieve their idealistic goals born out of the social movements of the 1960s, or did the generation fall tragically short?”  Panelists included three members of the Class of 1970 who have pursued very different careers and a Class of 2019 alumna who offered her perspective on how today’s Brown students view the Baby Boomers’ successes and failures.

Since then we have had some thought-provoking discussions on Facebook.  We also hosted a class discussion on Racism via a Zoom call on June 25th and welcome other suggestions at any time. We encourage you to join the Brown University Class of 1975 private Facebook group. You need to be a member of Facebook to join the class group. If you want information about joining or security settings, contact us.

35th REUNION - FRIDAY, MAY 28 - SUNDAY, MAY 30, 2010

Over 120 classmates along with 65 guests returned to Brown on Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our 35th reunion.

The weekend started with a welcome reception in our class headquarters where we were serenaded by the Brown Derbies, a student a cappella group. We moved to Sayles Hall for our class dinner, and then out to the Green for a fun-filled night under the stars at the Campus Dance.

Our class lunch on Saturday featured our classmate, former U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, who spoke about the political environment in Washington, D.C. and what it is like to be an independent in politics today. We gathered again Saturday evening under a tent on Lincoln Field for a class clambake.

On Sunday a spirited group gathered for the Commencement Procession under bright blue skies. The weekend was a great opportunity to reminisce, reconnect with old friends, and to meet new people.

Click here to see photos from the weekend event. If you took pictures at the reunion, please send them to rpwbrown75@gmail.com so they can be posted. We would especially like photos from the Saturday class clambake. Photos are also available on the Class of 75 Facebook page.
