How to be a successful 3rd grader

1. Check homework planner nightly and encourage your child to chek off each box as they complete their assignment.

2. Have your child read at least 20 minutes a night and record in their planner.

3. Review and discuss math homework to see what your child is leaning and if he/she is understanding the concept taught.

4. Practice math facts. Your child is expected to master multiplication and division facts, 0-12, by the end of thrid grade. It is never too early to start with flash cards or fact fluency games.

**Homework should never be a struggle. It is important to set up homework expectations at the beginning of the school year so homework becomes a routine. If you are struggling with homework, please let me know and we will work together to help your child become successful at your child doing their homework independently.
