Members are expected to show up to biweekly meetings and to be active participants in discussion regarding events within the club; they are required to perform 10 community service hours each quarter and a total of 60 hours for the year. At least 3 of the 10 community service hours per quarter must be NHS related.
Job Description for each Officer:
President:
Keep track of major, upcoming events
Decide what tasks need to be completed
Oversee all projects (act as ex-officio member of all committees)
Delegate responsibilities
Write meeting agendas with VP
Run meetings
Speak at NHS induction ceremony
Act as spokesperson for NHS at school related events involving NHS
Vice President:
Assumes duties of President at meetings when President is absent
Communicate with entire club through thorough email updates
Write meeting agendas with President
Revise Bylaws every other year (can delegate a committee to help him/her)
Secretary:
Take attendance
Take and post meeting minutes
Make Sign-up spreadsheets for various NHS-related events
Check service hours **(10 hours per quarter, 60 hours per year minimum)
Treasurer:
Collect dues at the beginning of the year ($15 per member + $5 toward grad cord)
Keep track of deposits and expenses
Work with Mrs. Parke to make deposits & payments
All NHS officers are ultimately responsible for carrying out the duties of the chapter, and should work together with the members of the club to ensure that all projects, jobs, etc. are done comprehensively and on time.
