PATHS
PATHS provide high performing students more opportunities for research and performance in areas of personal interest. Each PATH provides a different challenge that requires time, creativity and effort to reach the final destination.
The program is based on Joseph Renzulli's theories of talent development and schoolwide enrichment and provides opportunities for students with a variety of strengths and talents during the Resource period.
Students best suited for PATHS are those who want to do more; are interested in a PATH topic; are able to meet deadlines and possess excellent thinking and reading/writing skills. Students are expected to attend all scheduled PATH meetings, unless they need to make up work due to an extended absence, and will sign a contract to attend all sessions.
Participating in PATH is a choice, requires task commitment and a consistent, high level of participation as well as maintaining a high level of classroom performance in all other classes.
All research PATHS consist of authentic product creation. Additional PATHS may be added throughout the year based on student interest and staff availability.
If a student misses two or more PATH classes, it may become necessary to revolve out of the program.
