FLAIRS 2012 Highlights

FLAIRS Impromptu Talks

For FLAIRS 25 (May, 2012), the conference chair, Chad Lane, came up with the bright idea of having "impromptu" talks.

Ever so basically, a group of evil FLAIRS officials (e.g., Geoff Sutcliffe) would find bunches of weird slides and Chad would randomly distribute groups of 5 of these slides into various "presentations." All the presentations would be performed on the second evening of the conference, with titles for the talks contributed by equally evil conference attendees.

All that was really needed then was some "volunteers" to do the presenting.

The following people all agreed, for the price of just a single can of beer :-(

The judges were Geoff Sutcliffe, Hans Guesgen, and plenary invited speaker Bill Swartout.

The over-all winner was adjudged to be Danielle McNamara, with Phil McCarthy taking second place. But was the judging right?    I (i.e., Phil) don't think so ... YOU DECIDE :-)
