The Conference Hotel is TradeWinds Resort, Island Grand Resort and Conference Center (5600 Gulf Boulevard ~ St. Pete Beach ~ Florida ~ 33706 ~ USA).  FLAIRS-26 has arranged conference rates for a block of rooms with the hotel.  Conference blocked rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis until that category of the block is filled.  The special rate that we received is $149.00 per night (plus 12% State Tax) for Standard Hotel rooms (an interior view room with 2 double beds and wet bar with refrigerator, toaster, coffee, and microwave).     Upgraded rooms or suites are available for an additional cost (starting at + $20 per night).   

To make your room reservation,  please call Group Reservations at 800-808-9833.  Say that you are attending the FLAIRS conference and confirm that you have the special rate of  $149 per night. 

Note: They do charge a one-night deposit at the time the reservation is made.  You will get a full-refund as long as you cancel at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date. 

Check in is after 4PM   and   Checkout is by 11AM

Room rates are guaranteed until the cutoff date of Monday, April 22, 2013

Each guest gets free admission to the NEW Beach-Side Water-Slide.

The resort will provide upgrades to Gulf Front Bedroom Balcony Suites at a discounted group rate of $149.00 from May 20-25, 2013, based on availability.

Location, Travel

FLAIRS-26 will be held in St. Pete Beach, FL.  Most attendees will fly to Tampa International Airport (TPA), but St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) may be alternative options.  TPA is 30 miles from the TradeWinds Resort; PIE is 20 miles from the resort.

St. Pete Area: Anyone who plans to stay in the St. Pete area for the entire trip has no need to rent a car.

 Suncoast Beach Trolley -    stops right at TradeWinds.

·       Fares are $1.25 per ride, or $3.00 all day and the Beach Trolley runs every 20 to 30 minutes from 5:05 a.m. to 10:10 p.m., Monday through Sunday, including holidays, with service until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

This service circles the entire town so no need to have other transportation while staying in the area.
