Video Broadcasting

Course Overview

This full year course introduces students to broadcasting and video production through a collaborative, hands-on approach in order to produce our weekly news program. Students will be introduced to basic broadcast journalism writing and production techniques. Topics include the fundamental, technical aspects of the digital video camera, camera angles and creative composition, media literacy, video editing, and roles and responsibilities of a broadcast news team. Students will practice effective communication and management skills to complete the video process from pre-production script development to a quality video news broadcast.
