Catharine Klein is from Austin, Texas.  This is her 11th year at Kerr and 15th year teaching overall.  Mrs. Klein is the lead teacher for the KMS Honors Band, Concert Band, and Beginner Woodwind Classes (Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, and Saxophone). She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Instrumental and General Music Education from Ball State University in 2008.  Prior to teaching in Burleson, Mrs. Klein served as the Head Band Director at Lake Air Intermediate in Waco ISD and Director of Bands & General Music in Morrison, Oklahoma.  In 2014, she graduated with a Master of Music in Music Education from Baylor University. Sic 'Em, Bears!  Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.  

Mrs. Klein became a band director because the most meaningful mentors her in life were her music teachers. They inspired a life long passion for music within her and a drive to share this passion with others. She is excited to have so many new faces in Kerr Band this year!  Go Cougars!

In her free time,  Mrs. Klein enjoys practicing aerial yoga, playing with her two miniature dachshunds, and spending time with her husband, Andrew Klein, who works as the assistant band director at Centennial High School. 

Brennan Ross is from Granbury, Texas, and is starting his third year at Kerr Middle School! Mr. Ross is the lead teacher for the KMS Symphonic Band and Beginner Brass classes (Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba). Mr. Ross also assists with Honors Band and Concert Band. Prior to teaching at Kerr, Mr. Ross taught in Cleburne ISD and Aledo ISD. Mr. Ross received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from Texas Tech University. 

While at Texas Tech, Mr. Ross studied French Horn and performed with the Goin' Band from Raiderland, Court Jesters, Matador Singers, Symphonic Band, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Mr. Ross had the honor of performing at national music conferences, as well as collegiate and professional sports arenas around the nation. His primary teachers include Professor Christopher M. Smith, Dr. Eric Allen, and Dr. Sarah McKoin.

In his free time, Mr. Ross enjoys playing tennis and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Mr. Ross is married to his wife, Lily, and they have a fluffy Goldendoodle named Dolly! Mr. Ross is professionally affiliated with the Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association.

Andrew Klein is the Percussion Director at Kerr Middle School and Associate Band Director at Burleson Centennial High School. Mr. Klein teaches Beginner, Intermediate, and Honors Percussion at KMS. At CHS, he conducts the Wind Symphony, teaches the AP Music Theory class, and assists with the Spartan Regiment, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and the percussion program.

Prior to returning to CHS he served as the assistant band director and percussion director at Kerr Middle School. Before teaching in Burleson ISD, Mr. Klein was the assistant band director and percussion director at Temple High School. His bands have consistently earned sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading and his students have consistently earned college credit from the AP Music Theory exam. 

Mr. Klein earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN and Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting from Oklahoma State University. His professional affiliations include: Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Percussive Arts Society.
