PSAT

PSAT

PSAT:

All students in grades 9-11 will be taking the PSAT this fall. Students are automatically signed up for the test, there is no charge to the student and no action is required. Freshman will be taking the PSAT 8/9. Sophomores and Juniors will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). Only Juniors are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Why is the PSAT Important?

The PSAT stands for Preliminary SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). It is a good resource to use when preparing and studying for the SAT. You can even link your PSAT results to Khan Academy to get personalized SAT prep.

JUNIORS!

For Juniors taking the PSAT/NMSQT your scores could qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and college scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during their Junior year.
