About Me / Welcome Letter

My name is Cynthia Banks and this is my 31st year to teach.  My first 3 years were spent in Everman, and the rest have been in Burleson.  I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in the past.  This is my ninth year to teach 2nd grade, and I am so excited to begin this new school year adventure!

I live way out in the country in Cleburne with my husband (Jerry).  I have 4 awesome children (Ethan - 32, Dakota - 27, Caleb - 20, and Olivia - 16) and three beautiful daughter-in-laws (Brittany, Lilly, and Alexius).  I also have 2 adorable grandchildren (Charlotte and Ben).   My husband and all my children love extreme sports (especially dirt bike riding), and I have the gray hairs to prove it!

I am so excited to have your child in my class!  My goal is for 2nd grade to be your best school experience ever!  I believe that good communication will be the key in reaching that goal.  Please join our ClassDojo and keep it updated to receive important messages and pictures. Check take home folders daily for any notes or graded papers. Visit my website each week for learning targets, spelling lists, upcoming events, and more.   Also, feel free to send a Dojo message, call, or email me with any questions or concerns that you have.

Thank you so much for sharing this year with me.  Teaching is my passion, and I want everyone to be successful!

Sincerely,

Cynthia Banks
