Retaking Assessments

How to Improve your Grade by Retaking a Quiz or Test

Unless you earned 100% on a test or quiz, you may retake it for more credit.

Step 1) Meet with Mrs. Weise or Mrs. Magnuson before or after school to get help correcting the problems you got wrong.

Step 2) Ask to take the Quiz/Test Retake (again - before or after school).

Step 3) Bring your original quiz to the Retake session. You will only have to do the questions that are similar to the ones you got wrong the first time. (We assume you would get the other ones correct again.)

Step 4) Retake the required Quiz/Test questions. You must show your work! Staple together the two assessments, with the Retake on top.

Step 5) Your new grade will be the mean of the original and retaken assessments.

Vocabulary Quiz Retake Process

Step 1) List the terms you got wrong across the top of a paper (you can write on the back of the quiz).

Step 2) Write those terms and definitions 3 times each.

For example: Percent - amount out of 100.

Percent - amount out of 100.

Percent - amount out of 100.

Step 3) Study a little more.

Step 4) Bring your original quiz and the terms and definitions you wrote to Mrs. Weise.

Step 5) You have 2 options for retaking.

Option 1) Ask to retake the whole quiz for possible 100%.

Option 2) Ask to retake just the terms you got wrong for half credit each.
