All members of the Association are invited to an EGM to be held in Dalziel High School at 7.00pm on Monday 19th May.
The Committee has, for the last 6 months, carried out an extensive tender process for the provision of our factoring services. This activity was requested by members at the 2013 AGM. This will be the only agenda item at the EGM on 19th May.
There are potential implications for the payment process and for the common charges, therefore the Committee is keen to ensure the presence of as many members as possible at the EGM. In particular, the Committee would like to see representation from both blocks of flats, who rely on factoring services for cleaning, maintenance, electricity and insurance as well as the other contracts paid for by every member (garden and playpark maintenance).
This has been a significant project undertaken by the Committee, and this is your chance to speak up. Members present at the EGM will vote whether to stay with our existing factor, or switch to the new one.

The table below shows a comparison of projected costs for both houses and flats provided by Options A and B.
Overall, Option B is cheaper for house owners by approximately 34%, and cheaper for flat owners by 25%. If the cost of contractors are excluded, so only costs that are controlled by the factor themselves are taken into consideration, then Option B is 27% cheaper for house owners and 43% cheaper for flat owners. Note that these are minimum expected costs, exclude VAT and do not include any unforeseen or incidental repairs that may be necessary.
