Note: Refer to the soft due dates in the Calendar (in the top Blackboard menu) to stay on track.

Week One

Go to Blackboard and click START HERE in the course menu and review my greeting and all materials in the folders for Essential Course information (the Syllabus, Schedule, Course Requirements, FAQs, etc.); GET HELP; Zoom Meetings, etc.

Attend orientation Zoom on Tuesday. Week One's Zoom session (Tuesday, July 8, at 7 p.m.) is an orientation of the course and discussion of Week One Assignments. See Zoom folder in the Blackboard menu for the links and codes. All students are required to attend OR watch the recorded meetings.

Complete the Intro Thread in the Discussion Board and the Orientation Quiz in Blackboard.

Once you have oriented yourself to the course, go to Module One in the Blackboard course menu, follow the step-by-step Learning Guide, read the lectures, complete the Plagiarism Tutorial by clicking here, and then save/screenshot the results (80 percent or higher). You'll need to attach this screenshot when you submit Paper One next week. If this is too difficult, you can email me the results and make a notation underneath your paper.

Finally, complete Journal One and Quiz One.

Refer to the due dates in the Calendar (in the top Blackboard menu) to stay on track.

WARNING! Failure to complete the Orientation Quiz and Intro Thread by the date and time listed in the schedule may result in withdrawal for non-attendance!!!

By the end of the week, begin peer editing in the Discussion Board (BB1) (after you've drafted Paper One).

Please note: All students who were unable to attend and turn on their cameras during one of the first two Zoom sessions (I took attendance in the last ten min. of class) are required to meet with me in a 5-minute conference next week. If you do not have an ACC ID card, you must visit the nearest ACC campus to update your Student ID card with your photo prior to attending the Zoom or scheduling the conference (email me for alternatives if you do not live near an ACC campus). Email me at bvillarr@austincc.edu for the link to set up the conference.
