Unit members hired before January 1, 1985, who were employed in a position eligible to receive medical benefits as of that date, shall be eligible for District-paid "lifetime" medical benefits if they retire from District employment after having completed a minimum of fifteen (15) years of service in a position receiving medical benefits with the District and having attained at least fifty (50) years of age. This coverage will include unit members' eligible dependents who were covered at the time of retirement. Dependents acquired after retirement are ineligible for coverage.
