Dr. Beate Peter at Arizona State University
We are part of the Speech and Hearing Science unit in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. In the Speech/Language Genetics lab, we investigate the biological causes of communication disorders using a wide palette of tools. These include tests of speech and language, motor function testing, brain imaging, and of course, DNA analysis.
If you are interested in participating in our studies, please contact Beate Peter by email at Beate.Peter@asu.edu or by phone at 480.965.4737 (office) or 206.713.5839 (cell).
An ever-growing team of students at all levels is running the Babble Boot Camp©. We interact with the families, transcribe babble into International Phonetic Alphabet, analyze questionnaire responses, run statistical analyses, write posters and papers, and so much more! Your donation supports the Babble Boot Camp© study and the research on how to prevent speech/language and motor disorders in very young children.
Your gift will also go towards expanding the study to include more children who might benefit, for instance infants born preterm and those who are at genetic risk for speech/language and motor disorders.
Thank you for your support!
