How Do I...

Logging In:

On the Destiny homepage, click the "Login" button on the upper right hand side of the screen.

Your username is the same one you use for email.

The password is mediacenter.

Logging in is necessary to:

  1. Create Resource Lists

  2. See which items you have checked out

  3. Place an item on hold

  4. Request an item from another school

  5. Rate or review a title

Seeing what Items You Have Checked Out:

Once you have logged in, you will see two tabs at the top of the page, "Catalog" and "My Info." Click on "My Info." You will see all the titles you have currently checked out listed chronologically by due date. If you scroll down the page you will see fines, holds, and recommended titles.

When you click "Add List,"the system will prompt you for a name for the list.

Creating a Resource List:

Once you have logged in, select "Resource Lists" from the left side vertical menu. From here you can view your saved lists or create a new list by clicking the "Add List" button on the upper right corner.

You can chose to make this list locally public (anyone using the EDW system will be able to see it) or district-wide public (anyone using the Roseville Area School Destiny System will be able to see it) by checking the appropriate boxes. If you leave these boxes unchecked, only you will be able to see it. You can also write a brief description of the list.

You can also view Public Lists created by others by clicking the "Public Lists" tab in the upper right hand corner.

Placing Items from EDW on Hold:

Search for titles using the "Library Search" feature. You can search by keyword, title, author, subject, or series. The title's availability will be shown on the right-hand side of the results page. If it says "0 of __ available" it means that title is checked out but you can place a hold on it.

Once you have logged in, search for the title you wish to put on hold. Go to the "Details" page for the title by clicking on the title or on the "Details" button. Click on the "Hold It!" button on the upper right corner of the screen. You can choose to reserve the title for a specific date or as soon as possible. Click the "Save" button.

Requesting Items from another School:

To search for items from the entire district, after logging in, select "Roseville School District" from the drop down "Location" menu in the the "Narrow Your Search" box on the Library Search page. The results page will show the title's availability both locally and off-site.

Once you find a title you would like to request from another school, follow the procedure for placing a hold for materials from EDW. When you get to the screen asking whether you want the hold as soon as possible or for a specific date, select "Reserve for a specific Date." This will take you to the screen pictured to the left. From here you can select the school from which you would like to request the title under the drop down menu "From." You also can choose the number of copies you would like to reserve and the dates you like the copies reserved. Then click save.
