Volunteer Hours are a requirement for continuing membership in the Park Center National Honor Society. The service committee will share opportunities with you as they become known to us. The service committee chair will be in close contact with Mrs. Hennen, the PC Volunteer Coordinator.
These hours must be submitted via a Google Form (link on Schoology page). Your hours will be checked by the NHS Historian and the NHS Advisor.
You must complete at least 10 projects for a total of at least 20 hrs of service to the PCSH community. This can include:
Volunteering for child care during a PTO/PTA meeting at an elementary school
Helping with an elementary school carnival, winter fun-land, or turkey bingo
Feed My Starving Children
This would not include:
Working at an NHS fundraiser.
Working at an event that is the responsibility of your committee (service, for instance, cannot count working at conferences as that is part of their job.)
Working at an event/fundraiser that is required for another organization of which you are a member (for instance, working at Hoops for Hearts when you are a member of SAC).
Any Sno-Daze event (see below) or the Senior Luncheon
In addition, you must complete at least 10 hrs of service for Sno-Daze. As part of your duties as a member of NHS, you are expected to be at Big Base and the dance. This includes setup, tear down, and the event itself.
