I teach biology to undergraduate students and conduct research on plants together with them. More about my professional background and scientific work can be found on my departmental website.
Few of my students arrive in college with an interest in plant biology -- a situation that reflects wide-spread disinterest in and estrangement from plants in US culture. My students have taught me that most of us learn best through listening to others people's stories and through telling our own. By sharing resources for crafting plant stories, I am hoping to help others bring plants alive within the tales that reflect and shape our lives.
