A Room parent volunteers to coordinate class events and parties
throughout the year and acts as a liaison between the school and
parents, keeping them informed about school activities.
Room Parent Requirements:
Be a PTO member and attend, at a minimum, 3 PTO meetings a year
Be HIB trained before volunteering in the building (requires watching
an online video)
Meet with the class teacher(s) to confirm classroom needs and
preferences
Collect classroom funds to be used for teacher gifts and inform class
parents how funds are being used
Communicate monthly (via e-mail or school app) with parents about
upcoming events
Encourage other class parents to become involved in the PTO
All classes will have more than one Room Parent. As a Room Parent you are NOT required to attend all class parties and school events, or use your own money for any reason
