A Room parent volunteers to coordinate class events and parties

throughout the year and acts as a liaison between the school and

parents, keeping them informed about school activities.

Room Parent Requirements:

• Be a PTO member and attend, at a minimum, 3 PTO meetings a year

• Be HIB trained before volunteering in the building (requires watching

• an online video)

• Meet with the class teacher(s) to confirm classroom needs and

• preferences

• Collect classroom funds to be used for teacher gifts and inform class

• parents how funds are being used

• Communicate monthly (via e-mail or school app) with parents about

• upcoming events

• Encourage other class parents to become involved in the PTO

All classes will have more than one Room Parent. As a Room Parent you are NOT required to attend all class parties and school events, or use your own money for any reason
