Course Description:

The world’s perspective on the environment has changed dramatically in a short period of time. Now more than ever our community, state, country and world are dealing with serious environmental issues. This course is as important as any you will take as we try and understand and solve these difficult problems. This course will explore the relationships between the physical, chemical, and biological components of the Earth. It will examine the political, social and economic implications on those components. We will focus on global issues but always return to the context of these problems in Colorado. This course will teach students to critically evaluate issues, and that there are few black and white scenarios, but instead gray areas that demand better understanding.
