Abraar Secondary School is currently soliciting applications for the following teaching positions for the 2021-2022 school year:

Minimum Qualifications

• • University Degree in Education (or a related field)

Desirable Qualifications

• • Teaching qualification; priority for members of Ontario College of Teachers (Asset)

  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience.

  • Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Strong research and teaching skills 

  • Interpersonal skills with an emphasis on compassion, patience and professionalism 

  • Ability to work within a team, with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative and confidence

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• • Prepare course long range plan, unit plans and homework materials

  • Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives that follow Ontario curriculum standards 

  • Participate in professional development conferences and activities. 

  • Present materials in a logical manner and in appropriate quantities 

  • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within classroom 

  • Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning 

  • Formal and informal ongoing assessment of students, including report cards, progress reports and marking 

  • Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines

  • Perform other related duties as required
