Basecamp 2023-2024 started with Staff collaboration to create the 3 Legacies that represent 5280 High School. The collaboration of all Staff produced:

THE LEGACY OF 5280 IS COURAGE THROUGH COMMUNITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND LOVE.

In pairs staff interviewed several students to share their insights into their recovery and how 5280 impacts that journey.  Staff  were then put in groups to create and conceptualize these reflections.  Prototypes  were created in Adobe Illustrator of these recovery coins and then cut on the Glowforge machine to be shared with our students here at 5280 to celebrate various lengths of clean time in their sobriety journey. Pictures shown below are part of that incredible process of learning . We as a staff were willing to be uncomfortable in learning new software, openminded to suggestions in our drafting and design process, as well as honest with each other about each part of the design process. 

Here are some process pictures. We started with our core values.  We then grouped the common values and filtered them down to come up with the 3 legacies as all staff. That was an amazing experience to be a part of. 

Our Group was tasked with designing a 90 Day Recovery Coin.

We started by viewing exemplar coins during a Gallery Walk.

Our design incorporates the ideas and input from (3) 5280 students during separate interviews done at the same time.  This is the process we used to create our coin. The final iteration and design inspiration came from from Scar H, Patty P, and Emma T and was conceptualized by Silvia D, Haley N, and Darryl B.
